Founder

Since 1981, Joe DeReuil has assisted in or has been Structural Engineer of Record for projects totaling over 13 million square feet. His experience covers a wide variety of major building types including office buildings, churches, schools, condominiums, hotels, stadiums, museums, military facilities, aircraft hangars, water treatment facilities, custom residences, and bridges.

Joe DeReuil graduated from Georgia Tech in 1981 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, including a year at the L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Upon graduation, he worked in Atlanta as a structural engineer for Heery International for five years. He then worked for Nielsen/Uzun Structural Engineers as a consulting structural engineer for various Atlanta architects including Thompson Ventulett Stainback, Smallwood Reynolds Stewart and Stewart, and Cooper-Carry.

Joe moved from Atlanta to Pensacola in 1993 to head the Structural Department at Baskerville-Donovan. In 1998 he joined Samuel Johnson Inc. and worked with Sam until his restructuring at the end of 2002.

Joey McMath, P.E.
Senior Partner, Manager

Structural engineering is so much more than the academics of analysis, computations, and an understanding of the strength of materials, though those comprise its heartbeat. It is also an art, requiring multi-disciplined collaboration through effective communication with all team members. Joey is proud to be member of this team. As Senior Partner and Manager of the firm, Joey seeks to lead and serve with excellence. His presence at the firm since 2002 uniquely positions him to understand the needs of our clients and team members. His experiences at the firm have lead him from internship to project designer and eventually to project manager. Joey has seen numerous projects through the design and construction process and his experience includes military facilities, educational, office, retail, student housing, condominium, health care, water/waste water treatment, residential, hotels, and various civil structures. In recent years he has participated in several significant forensic evaluation and rehabilitation projects. He has participated in legal cases involving construction defect and insurance settlements for damaged buildings.

Joey has been privileged to assist with structural inspection services on over 3-million square feet of threshold buildings involving masonry, wood, steel, cast concrete, post-tensioned, precast, and pre-stressed concrete structural systems. Observing the building process first-hand has given him much satisfaction and a deep respect for those in the construction profession. Bringing his construction observations back to the design team helps improve the constructability of the firm's future designs. Joey believes that the engineering profession presents rewarding opportunities to help others achieve their goals. Through the practice of structural engineering, JDA works with teams who bring a client’s vision into focus and eventually to reality. Joey and his wife, Misty, reside in Pace, FL, with their two awesome sons, and a beautiful daughter. They are active members of their local church and enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Josh Greenwell, P.E.
Senior Partner

Josh Greenwell, P.E., S.E., joined JDA in August 2008. He is now a Senior Partner in the firm. Josh obtained his Professional Engineering license in 2014 and now holds licensure in multiple states. Josh earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Florida State University in 2008. Before working as an engineer, he worked in construction gaining several years of practical construction experience which is applied today in projects that he designs and manages. Josh is honored to be part of such a great team of engineers, and grateful to of had such great mentors in Joe DeReuil and Joey McMath. In his years serving as a structural engineer, he has become proficient in designing with many structural material types from concrete, structural steel, timber, masonry and light gage metal, and has a wide knowledge of different structural systems. During his time at JDA, Josh has been involved with many projects through the design and construction process; his experience includes churches, military facilities, educational, office, retail, condominium, health care, waste water treatment facilities, residential, and hotels. Josh and his wife, Raven, reside in Century, FL, with their talented son and beautiful daughter. His family is active members of their local church and enjoy spending time together and strive to put God first in all they do.

Kelly Morris, P.E.
Senior Partner

Kelly Morris, P.E., joined the JDA team in August of 2007 and is now a Senior Partner in our firm. Originally from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in 1990. After a brief period working as a Geotechnical Engineer right out of college, she decided that structural engineering was to be her path. She moved to Pensacola and went to work for Baskerville-Donovan, where she was fortunate enough to meet a great mentor and friend, Joe DeReuil. And, the rest is history. In her spare time, when she’s not having a great time working to support some amazing and hard-working engineers, she loves spending time with her family, especially doing anything related to boating and the beach.

Matthew Milner, P.E.

Matthew Milner joined JDA in March of 2004 as an E.I.T and received his Professional Engineering license in 2009. He currently holds licenses in Florida and Alabama. Matthew is originally from Albertville, AL and graduated from Auburn University in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While at Auburn, Matthew interned for three years with Southern Company's Engineering and Construction Services in Birmingham, AL and worked part-time on research projects for Auburn's Civil Engineering Department.

Matthew has designed numerous military projects on bases from Arizona to Ohio to the Caribbean and many places in between. His other projects include schools, office buildings and multi-family residential buildings in northwest Florida and lower Alabama. Designs include everything from foundations for pre-engineered metal buildings and specialty hangar door retrofit systems to multi-story steel frame office buildings and multi-story cast concrete condominiums.

William Coe, P.E.

William Coe joined JDA in October of 2017and earned his Professional Engineering license in 2022. William is from the Pensacola area and graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While in school, he was a teaching assistant and worked for the University of Alabama Construction Administration under the guidance of engineers, architects, and construction managers. In his spare time, William enjoys reading, gardening, and spoiling his dog Annie.

John Bouchard, E.I.

John joined the JDA team in 2021 as an Engineer In Training.  John graduated from the University of South Alabama with his B.S. in Civil Engineering. He also has his Bachelors in Business Management as well.  With a complete change in career direction, John brings to JDA a background in the medical and business fields.  While in the engineering program at South Alabama, John served as a Teachers Assistant and also interned at Tierra Engineering where he performed geotechnical and concrete evaluations for project engineers.  John enjoys being outdoors, along with spending time with his family and friends.

Nathan Gunn, E.I.

Nathan Gunn joined JDA in June of 2024 as an engineer in training. Nathan grew up in Huntsville, Al and graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While in school, he was a university mathematics tutor and worked as an intern with Morell Engineering and Layton Construction. In his free time, Nathan enjoys being outdoors, playing with his dogs, sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

Tyler Brown E.I.

Tyler Brown joined JDA in February 2025 as an Engineer in Training. Tyler, a Pensacola native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University in December of 2024. He previously interned with JDA during the summer of 2023. While pursuing his degree, Tyler worked full-time as a Construction Engineering Inspector (CEI) at Metric Engineering in Miami, Florida. Following graduation, he returned to Pensacola to apply his engineering expertise and contribute to the local community. Outside of work, Tyler enjoys sports, photography, hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Sara Hubmann

Sara Hubmann serves as the Director of Marketing and Business Operations at JDA, bringing nearly 20 years of experience to the structural engineering industry. She joined the team in February 2006, and her extensive background in business management and marketing has made her an integral part of the firm’s success. Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Florida State University and has honed her skills in various administrative and operational functions over the years. Whether it's overseeing invoicing, developing marketing strategies, or managing client relationships, she’s well-equipped to handle a wide range of tasks to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. Outside of work, Sara is passionate about exploring new places and making memories with her family, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors with her dog, Olive.

Katie Bowles

Katie joined the JDA Administrative team as Office Manager in 2020 and quickly became an integral part of the organization. Through her dedication and expertise, she now serves as the Director of Finance and Human Resources, overseeing key operational functions that keep JDA running smoothly. With a strong background in the local healthcare industry, Katie brings a dynamic blend of leadership, strategic financial planning, and process optimization. Her ability to streamline operations, enhance workplace culture, and implement effective business strategies has made a lasting impact on the organization. Outside the office, Katie is deeply passionate about animal rescue, dedicating her time to volunteering at a local dog rescue. she also enjoys making art, exploring new destinations, and spending time with her family and dog, Velvet.
